Ice wall_14-17 y.o. architectural course. Vol 2.

Ice wall print.
During this part of the course, we took a break from modular architecture and explored the art of creating artificial relief. One concept that inspired us was the zero-recycling approach of the architect @iceformwork, who developed the Ice Formwork system. This innovative system offers an environmentally and economically friendly alternative to the regular formwork, using regular ice as a molding material and advanced robotic tools for processing. However, as we did not have the means to maintain constant ice temperatures, we improvised by using hot wax to obtain a print from the ice pieces we collected from the nearby Neva river. The result was a unique texture reminiscent of Giger's art, which we decided to preserve by creating a flexible foam mold. We also drew inspiration from the works of @borisipsum, who creates formwork from styrofoam and shapes it using a hot air gun.
A bit of process.
